Physical Therapy
![]() Physical therapy addresses circumstances where movement and function are limited as a result of injury, disease or the ageing process. Full, functional movement is the foundation of good health, so treatment is focused on identifying and maximizing movement potential through a treatment program focused on prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. Good therapy involves the interaction between the physical therapist, patients, families and care givers, to establish treatment goals that assess movement potential and an agreed program that uses the unique knowledge, skills, and techniques of the physical therapist. A Physical therapist’s distinctive view of the body, its movement needs and potential are central to accurately diagnosing as well as developing an intervention strategy that is consistent to achieving the determined goals. Programs will vary in relation to the goal of the therapy – restoration, prevention, or rehabilitation. |
